Endorsements
I believe endorsements are an important part of a campaign—they give you, the voter, a chance to see which organizations and, more importantly, which people stand behind a candidate. It’s not always easy to know which candidate shares your values, and endorsements help paint that picture. They reflect what I value and how those values align with yours.
I’m very proud of the endorsements I’ve both sought out and earned, and I’m grateful for the trust and confidence they represent.
I’m also honored to have the support of people and organizations who have seen my work firsthand—leaders, neighbors, and community partners who share my vision for Orem’s future. These endorsements offer valuable insight into what I stand for: protecting neighborhoods, strengthening families, and leading with integrity and fiscal responsibility for the future. I’m deeply grateful for the confidence so many have placed in me and for their partnership in keeping Orem Family City USA.

With past performance being a predictor of future success, LaNae Millett is a slam dunk choice to continue serving as a member of the Orem City council. This is evidenced by her recognition as the Best of State for a Local Elected Official in the state of Utah. She and her husband, Ken, have chosen to raise their family here and the volunteer work she has rendered our community over the years is considerable. No one works harder than LaNae in service to Orem as a city council member. Her dedication, combined with her husband's complete support of her efforts, allow her to devote her talents and time to enhancing our community. She understands the challenges and issues facing Orem. Her experience and insight make her a highly effective member of the Orem City Council. LaNae is a person of high character and integrity. She loves Orem and wants it to continue to be an ideal place for families.
LaNae's education, experience of raising a family, work in the business world, in addition to her keen intellect, allow her to grasp the issues and to formulate wise solutions. There is no one more qualified to serve as a city council member than LaNae Millett and we heartily endorse her.
- Jim and Jan Hawkes, Long-time Orem Residents
“We’ve lived in Orem for many years and have never allowed political signs in our yard—until now. LaNae Millett took the time to help us with a concern, and she followed through until it was resolved. We sent a letter to the entire city council and mayor, and she was the only one who replied. She took the time to come to our house and talk to us; then talked with the right people to take care of what was concerning us. She was very polite, professional, and truly cared.
My daughter also had a safety concern at one of the parks and called LaNae at our recommendation and again, she took care and followed through on the issue until it was resolved. She is a problem solver, and she truly cares about the people she serves.”
- Debbie and Jay Hamilton, Longtime Orem Residents
We worked closely with LaNae and learned that she is accessible and responsive. When faced with competing voices and multiple needs, she is a calm creator of solutions. Her intelligence, kindness, and genuine concern for others makes her the ideal member of the Orem City Council.
- Brent and Judy Chynoweth
My wife and I have been doing business here in Orem for over 40 years. We’ve worked hard to build a storefront that not only serves our customers but also adds beauty to our city. Many people tell us ours is one of the most beautifully landscaped businesses in town—and that’s something we take pride in.
When we decided to invest in our property, we wanted a true storefront, not apartments stacked above our business. Under the old State Street Master Plan, that wouldn’t have been possible. Thanks to Councilwoman LaNae Millett and her work to protect small business, we were able to keep our store as we have envisioned it and do what we do best, serve the Orem community with their outdoor needs.
LaNae has always stood with Orem’s small business owners. She listens, she cares, and she works to keep Orem a place where family businesses can thrive. I’m grateful for her leadership and proud to support her re-election to the Orem City Council.
- Dale and Mindy Cutler, Orem Residents and Business Owners

We have witnessed firsthand her tireless advocacy for our neighborhoods and her unwavering commitment to making our city a better place for everyone! LaNae has served effectively on the City Council for four years and has a deep understanding of our city's needs. She brings a high level of integrity, a commitment to sustainable growth, and a strong desire to lead Orem into a prosperous future!
LaNae makes decisions based on the best interests of our fellow citizens and is not afraid to take a stand on issues that she feels strongly about. As a dedicated community advocate, LaNae has tirelessly championed responsible city growth, transparency, improved emergency services, and keeping our Orem City taxes low.
Orem City needs great and caring leaders who will stand up for Orem’s communities, values, and future! Leaders who will do the right things for the right reasons! LaNae’s exceptional leadership and unwavering commitment to the values of our city make her the ideal choice for City Council. This is why we wholeheartedly endorse LaNae Millet for the City Council.
- Brian and Marie Harris, long-time Orem residents

She doesn’t just talk, she acts. Orem needs her to remain on the council. She brings a perspective we value. We as citizens are lucky to have her on the city council.

It is an honor and with great enthusiasm that I pledge my support for LaNae Millett and her reelection to Orem City Council. I have known LaNae for 14 years and have served with her on Timpanogos High School Community Council for two years. I have always been in awe of LaNae's sound decision making, her ability to meticulously research all sides and aspects of an issue, make fair, informed and unbiased recommendations all while bringing people together. Above all LaNae is friendly, approachable, honest and willing to work tirelessly in an effort to do a job right and to the best of her ability. If I have a concern or a question, I know I can reach out to LaNae and have a response within the day.
Over the past four years LaNae has proven time and time again that we can have confidence in her ability to inform, serve, help us as citizens of Orem, and proactively protect our neighborhoods. I love that she is mindful of steady, but cautious growth and has kept high density housing to a minimum. She is passionately committed to making fiscally responsible decisions that strengthen our economy and protect our taxpaying dollars. I know that under LaNae’s conscientious leadership, Orem would remain Family City USA and be a haven for all. Perhaps you’ve noticed that through LaNae’s influence, Orem has a peaceful sense of belonging and our First Responders have reason to feel supported, safe and empowered to do their best while protecting and serving us.
Furthermore, LaNae Millett was honored with winning the BEST OF STATE ELECTED OFFICIAL – and we are honored to be the winning recipients of her leadership. Please join our family in reelecting LaNae Millett to Orem City Council.
- Caroline Kreutzkamp, Orem Resident
LaNae has been so attentive and has kept us informed about updates and changes to our local park. I feel heard and well represented by LaNae on City Council.
- Jenna Parker, local business owner, life-long Orem resident
We wholeheartedly endorse LaNae Millett for City Council. Over the years, we have been consistently impressed by her experience, her dedication to listening and finding solutions, and her passion for making our community stronger. LaNae approaches challenges with knowledge, skill, practicality, and heart — exactly the kind of leadership we need to keep on the Council.
During her time on City Council, LaNae has truly represented the people. She listens carefully, gives residents a voice in important decisions, and consistently advocates for what is best for our community. Her deep understanding of land use and zoning, along with her strong commitment to protecting our tax dollars, has benefited us all.
LaNae has delivered outstanding results, and we are grateful for her thoughtful, effective leadership. She is an incredible asset to our city, and we look forward to the continuation of her service.
- Steve and Lisa Lesser, Orem residents
My wife and I recently sat down with LaNae to talk about the direction of our community. We were impressed by her clear vision for the city, her commitment to responsible management, and her genuine respect for the people who live and work here. She understands that strong communities are built on accountability, faith, family, and hard work. As Christian Conservatives, we feel we align with LaNae’s direction.
During her time on the City Council, she’s delivered results that reflect those principles. Including: promoting public safety, supporting local businesses, and ensuring taxpayer dollars are used wisely. She’s the kind of leader who listens and leads with integrity.
We’re proud to endorse LaNae Millett for re-election. She’s earned the trust of our community, and she’s earned the trust of our family as well.
— Mike & Kaylee Hickman, Local fireman and proud Orem residents
LaNae is devoted to keeping Orem communities in tact, maintaining Orem neighborhoods’ unique and friendly identities. She understands and supports fiscal responsibility in our city and excellence in our schools. She will help our children’s children still recognize and feel at home in the Orem we love.
- John and Jill Barrick, long-time Orem residents
Over the years, I have had the privilege of working alongside LaNae in a rich variety of settings—within schools, political endeavors, and religious communities. Across each of these realms, her character and approach to collaboration have consistently impressed me.
One trait that stands out about LaNae is her commitment to diligence. She never leaps into action without first arming herself with the necessary information. Whether preparing for a meeting, addressing a concern, or proposing a new initiative, LaNae makes it a priority to seek out facts and perspectives. This careful groundwork means her requests are always well-considered and rooted in understanding.
Equally admirable is her fairness. When it comes time to suggest a course of action, LaNae weighs options thoughtfully. Her recommendations are made not just with efficiency in mind, but with a sense of equity and justice for all involved. She listens, reflects, and ensures that every voice is heard before moving forward.
Beyond her professional strengths, I have always sensed that LaNae acts with Orem’s best interests at heart. Her vision for our city is rooted in preserving its unique hometown character, ensuring that Orem remains a welcoming community rather than transforming into an impersonal high-rise landscape. LaNae’s thoughtful stewardship reassures me that she will continue to champion policies and plans that honor Orem’s traditions and foster a sense of belonging for every resident.
- Elaine Rodriguez, Orem Resident
We have chosen LaNae Millett as our candidate for the Orem City council. LaNae acquired a great deal of experience dealing with local issues when she served on many committees for our city as a concerned citizen. We appreciate and thank her for her continued support and concern for all our first responders and their families. LaNae has gained respect from the public as well as the law makers and government officials because of her continued efforts to keep our city growing in a safe way.
LaNae, is a long-time Orem City resident. She and her husband live in a modest home just minutes away from our City Center. They are very well liked and respected in their community, where they have served long hours as volunteers in schools, neighborhoods, and for their church.
We most admire LaNae for her selfless volunteer work. I acquired respect and admiration for her generosity, intelligence, and dedication to a good cause as she has put our neighborhoods preservation as her priority. She has put many hours and work into this and has made some great changes for all of us. With proud enthusiasm, we support LaNae Millett as one of our candidates for City Council.
- Eric and Lisa Wilkey, Orem Residents
I am supporting LaNae Millett in her campaign for re-election to the City Council.
I have attended a high percentage of city council meetings over the past 4 years, and watched and listened to the men and women who work hard for our city.
LaNae proved to be very good at her job and impressed me greatly. She spends a lot of time researching the information she is supposed to vote on. She becomes very informed.
LaNae is also very concerned for the people who live near each project she votes on, their quality of life now and after the vote. She works hard to protect each resident, me and you. Her efforts are evident.
LaNae has worked hard to make Orem Family City USA, and she has earned respect and awards from those she works with.
I respect her as a person and a city council woman. I support her in her campaign for re-election and I hope you will too.
- Karen Adamson, Orem Resident
LaNae is a hard working individual with a lot of spunk. If you want something done, she's the one to get it done. She is honest and fair, and cares about the individual. I fully endorse her for our city council.
- Ron Wright, retired educator and Orem resident
Orem is so lucky to have LaNae Millett as a citizen! I know that she loves Orem’s neighborhoods & families and will do all she can to ensure a beautiful future for the city she loves. LaNae is a woman of action! She knows the best way to serve your family is to serve your community. I met LaNae 10 years ago while serving as PTA president at Canyon View Jr High in Orem. I love working with LaNae! She is so smart and hard working. She is willing to speak up in meetings and has incredible integrity. I know that if LaNae is leading a project; it will get done. Better than anyone’s expectation. She is a positive force for good and I proudly endorse her for Orem City Council.

I have worked with LaNae on a local school PTA board and I was impressed from the start with LaNae's energy and drive to get things done. Many people are all talk and no action but LaNae is a doer! More importantly she wants to protect Orem and keep it a place for families. We need LaNae to fight for what's right and she'll get the job done. LaNae Millet has our vote for Orem City Council!
-Tonia and Curt Doussett
I met LaNae when she was supporting our neighborhood’s community effort to change current zoning codes within our city. I was so impressed with her knowledge and understanding of city codes and by-laws, and more importantly, in her perseverance. It takes time and dedication to create lasting change and she is there for the long-haul—with a good attitude and respect for city officials even if they don’t agree on an issue. That’s the kind of person I’d like to see on Orem City Council
- Shelley Pierce
I have had a few occasions to visit with LaNae and appreciate her efforts to maintain Orem as an excellent place to live. Orem is becoming overcrowded so I am thankful that she worked to stop filling state street with apartments, and also that she was instrumental in a major reduction in the number of units being placed in my neighborhood. Orem does not need to be a major highway connecting I-15 to Provo. I welcome LaNae’s efforts to block those plans and have Provo build their own off ramp.
These are some of the reasons I endorse her for the Orem City Council.
- Hal Shearer, Orem resident
I am proud to endorse LaNae Millett in her re-election for Orem City Council. As a neighbor and friend for over twenty years, I have witnessed her tireless dedication to our community. LaNae consistently stands up for residents, speaking on their behalf and tackling challenging issues. She does not shy away from taking on tough tasks, even when it is not popular, because she genuinely cares about doing what’s right for Orem.
As a principled and experienced leader, she has earned the trust of both voters and city staff. LaNae has been instrumental in making city government more transparent and efficient and in protecting our neighborhoods from overdevelopment. I am confident that LaNae will continue to work to make Orem an even better place to live.
- Stephanie Visnaw, Orem resident
I have known LaNae for more than 20 years. She is extremely efficient and reliable and cares about our community. I wish we had more people like her around on the work force, somebody that knows how to get the work done. I couldn’t think of anybody better to be in the Orem City Council and get things done the right way for our wonderful city of Orem.
- Sérgio Martin, Orem business owner
LaNae has been an incredible advocate for Orem. She and Dave Spencer have been by my side navigating concerns about a proposed 16-unit development in our neighborhood. They both showed up—at the neighborhood meeting and at the planning commission meeting to support my neighborhood. LaNae takes time to study the issues, and she’s not afraid to speak up when it comes to protecting our community.
I’ve watched LaNae in work sessions and city council meetings—she asks questions that are thoughtful, trying to get clarity. She works HARD to know the issues, and she consistently pushes for transparency. If you haven’t tuned in to Orem’s public meetings, I highly recommend that you watch a few.
-Tami Moore
I have known LaNae Millett for several years since she teamed with our son and others to stop a large, obnoxious housing development in north Orem. I have found her to be intelligent, clear-thinking, competent and to have the best interest of the people of Orem to guide her private and official efforts. LaNae is one of the good ones. We are blessed to have her on the city council and need her continued presence there. She truly represents the people of Orem.
- Dennis W. Harrison
My wife and I have lived here for many years. We, and many others, have sought advice from LaNae Millett when elections have been held or there have been issues that impact the community. Not only has her knowledge been impeccable but she has had statistics and impact information about issues and projects that affect the people who make their homes here.
Do you want a leader who is quick to observe issues and then knows the people and processes to bring focus and resolve to those issues?
If you are looking for such a person to be on Orem's City Council I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND LANAE MILLETT.
- Theron Sondrup
I’ve known LaNae since the 1980’s. She has always been the kind of person who is trying to help make things better. I appreciated her help in the 80’s and trust her to do the same now as a city council person. She will look to preserve those things that make Orem unique and special. I believe she understands that change is coming and how to prepare for it. I also believe LaNae can see those issues and evaluate the easily seen short term benefits and the potential long term consequences of decisions the council will make. I think she will represent me and my family well. She has my vote.
